Back to School with Alaffia

Alaffia School Supplies Drive | August 1-September 30 | All three stores

Throughout August and September we’re accepting donations of school supplies on behalf of Alaffia, one of the most well-known fair trade organizations in the natural body care industry. Alaffia invests fair trade profits directly into their West African communities to improve people’s quality of life, increase educational opportunities and reduce occurrences of poverty.

We’re collecting donations of new, unused school supplies, including #2 pencils, ball-point pens, white chalk, protractors, metal compasses and lined paper at each of our three store locations. Your donation will provide children in rural Togo with tools to learn, empowering them to complete school and serve as future community leaders. Simply look for the donation posters and collection boxes in each of our store entrances to drop off your items.

Since building their first school in 2011, Alaffia has built ten more and donated much needed school supplies to nearly 33,000 students throughout Togo. With your continued support, they’ll be able to provide thousands more with access to tools that create long-lasting positive change. When shopping at the co-op this back to school season, please consider donating to help improve the lives of our partner communities. Thank you for your gracious support!
