Hiring Fair Recap

On July 24, we held a Hiring Fair & Recruitment Event to help us fill our job openings at our new store on East 7th Street, opening in September.

FullSizeRender_webAs an employer and a co-op, we are committed to hiring locally. To help us connect with job seekers on St. Paul’s east side, we partnered with East Side Enterprise Center (ESEC), Communidades Latinas Unidas en Servicio (CLUES), and the Dayton’s Bluff Community Council. Typical available positions included cashiers, stockers, deli staff, and customer service staff.

We asked those attending the Hiring Fair to fill out online applications in advance and come with their resume. By doing this we were able to offer jobs on the spot to many of the people who interviewed.

We had twelve staff on hand to conduct interviews, including the East 7th department managers. In all, the team interviewed 221 job seekers throughout the course of the fair.



JaeSpeaksAs of now, 41 job offers have been made to those who attended the fair, 58% of which heard about our job postings through ESEC. These numbers will change as our managers go through list of potential candidates and extend job offers.

We are thrilled with the success of this event and the ability to hire so many people from surrounding community. We are so excited to welcome our new hires to the Mississippi Market family!
