In May, your donations will go to support the work of Face to Face.
Face to Face started 44 years ago on the East Side of Saint Paul and today they serve over 3,000 young adults each year. They focus on providing access to health services and serving youth experiencing homelessness through a healthy meal program along with a wide variety of housing, employment, and medical support services.
Today SafeZone is the only drop-in resource center of its kind for youth experiencing homelessness in the broader East Metro region.
Donations raised through Positive Change will support the meal program at the SafeZone drop-in center. The center serves youth ages 14 through 24 who are experiencing homelessness or who are at risk of homelessness which offers a food shelf, bagged lunch, and hot meal program daily. In addition they offer transportation assistance, shower and laundry, and a wide variety of housing, employment, and medical support services.
The donations raised through Positive Change will increase the number of meals served but also the quality and diversity of meals offered at the SafeZone drop-in center.
Currently, SafeZone is able to offer breakfast, lunch, and snacks. The food served is either leftovers from LeeAnn Chin, snacks such as granola bars, cookies, chips, apples, or frozen food to be heated like chicken patties and french fries. With additional funds, the top priorities to improve the meal program are to:
1) Have a wider variety of food for all the meals served
2) Add healthier options
3) Add an additional hot meal for the young people who are utilizing the center later in the evening.
Face to Face has two locations, a health clinic off Arcade Street and a downtown SafeZone center, both near our East 7th store location.
