Positive Change Program

Mississippi Market’s Positive Change program is a nod to our mission statement: to create positive change in the community by influencing the production, distribution, and enjoyment of food. When you bring your own reusable bag, you’ll receive a credit of 10¢ and can choose to donate it to our recipient of the month or use it to save on your shopping trip total. You may also round up your purchases to the next dollar amount for monthly Positive Change recipients. It may only be a few cents or spare change, but the impact on our community is astounding. Thank you for helping us raise over $10,000 each month for our Positive Change recipients!

St. Paul-based nonprofits are encouraged to apply for the Positive Change Program. Recipients are typically organizations with missions pertaining to local and sustainable agriculture, hunger initiatives, food access, and nutrition education. At Mississippi Market Natural Food Co-op’s discretion, the Positive Change recipient calendar may be preempted to raise emergency or disaster relief funds.

To apply, download the Positive Change Program Policy & Request Form and return it to customer service staff, mail it to our Selby store, or email a completed copy to Education & Events Specialist Katie Marty. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis and reviewed quarterly.
