Seeds

We’re proud to sell some of the best seeds around to help get your garden growing.

High Mowing Seeds began in 1996 with just 28 varieties. After tilling up a portion of his backyard and turning his shed into a seed packing area, founder Tom Stearns realized the growing and unmet demand for organic seed. High Mowing Organic Seeds has grown exponentially, offering over 600 heirloom, open-pollinated and hybrid varieties of vegetable, fruit, herb and flower seed. True to their roots, High Mowing Organic Seeds continues to grow many of the varieties they sell on their 40 acre farm, setting them apart from the majority of other seed companies. 100% organic seeds.

Seed Savers Exchange was founded in 1975 by Diane Ott Whealy and Kent Whealy to honor the tradition of preserving and sharing. Their mission is to conserve and promote America’s culturally diverse but endangered garden and food crop heritage for future generations by collecting, growing, and sharing heirloom seeds and plants. Prairie Road Organic Farm has been certified organic since 1977 and were named the MOSES 2014 Organic Farmers of the Year! A primary focus of their farm is to feed themselves and eat well. They have, “bred and selected vegetable varieties that perform well in our own organic gardens, are well adapted to our northern growing region AND bring joy to our table!” These seeds are only available at our West 7th store. Listen to farmer, Teresa Podoll, on the gardening podcast, A Way to Garden, on why they grow the seeds they do.
