Who We
Are
Close to 9,000 member-owners
Who are we? Well, most of Mississippi
Market’s member-owners
are people who live or work close to one of our two Saint Paul
stores. Our members share a strong appreciation of fresh and
delicious natural foods and other healthy products. Many of
us too have made a commitment to reinvest in the neighborhood
where
we live or work or share special concerns about the practices
employed to bring food and other products to us as consumers.
However,
there is another simple reason people choose to belong to
Mississippi Market Co-op: our friendly neighborhood grocery
stores offering shoppers great
products at fair prices. Can much of our success be attributed to community
ownership and democratic control? We believe it can. Whatever
the reason, consider yourself
welcome to drop by and “shop us” firsthand!
Board Members
The Board of Directors serves our co-op’s
membership by working to ensure that the best interests of
member-owners are reflected in the policies of the
co-op and that the organizational mission is furthered by such policies. For
more, see our
Co-op Mission and Board Ends and Board
of Directors pages.
Over
100 Staff
Our co-op’s entire day-to-day operations are overseen
by the General Manager, Gail
Graham.
Marketing & Media are handled
by Kari Binning.
Our West 7th Store Manager is Patrick
Werle.
The Selby Store Manager is Catherine Downey.
Running a retail store is a lot like performing a large scale
theatrical production: besides our managers, there’s a
full cast on stage in the aisles, service counters and registers,
and there is a hidden support team in the backrooms and offices.
Each employee who helps make this production successful every
day deserves tremendous credit for their ability to serve our
shoppers while keeping shelves well stocked with what customers
need. Cast of 100-plus, we salute you!
