Create Positive Change

Each time you shop at the co-op, you have a chance to directly support local community partners by donating your 10-cent reusable bag credits and rounding up your purchases to the nearest dollar. It may only be a few cents or spare change, but your generosity makes a huge impact — to the tune of over $10,000 each month for our Positive Change recipients!

Face to Face

January’s Positive Change recipient is Face to Face, a Saint Paul-based nonprofit empowering youth to overcome barriers and strive toward healthy and self-sufficient lives.

Since 1972, Face to Face has been serving young people experiencing homelessness or who are at risk of becoming homeless in Ramsey County. Today, Face to Face provides comprehensive medical care, mental health care, housing support, case management, employment training, transitional housing and other services to youth.

Face to Face served more than 2,500 youth between the ages of 11 and 24 last year. The vast majority (over 85%) of young people they serve are people of color, and 17% identify as part of the LGBTQ+ community. They often experience significant trauma in their lives because of poverty, racism, abuse or neglect, homelessness and difficult relationships, among other issues.

Through Face to Face’s SafeZone drop-in center, youth can eat two hot meals a day, take a shower, and leave with personal-care items and clothing. They can also meet with a case manager to help with housing, school, counseling and much more.

January Positive Change donations will ensure that youth stay healthy, warm and safe this winter by providing nutritious meals, hygiene items and cold-weather gear.
