Create Positive Change

Each time you shop at the co-op, you have a chance to directly support local community partners by donating your 10-cent reusable bag credits and rounding up your purchases to the nearest dollar. It may only be a few cents or spare change, but your generosity makes a huge impact — to the tune of over $10,000 each month for our Positive Change recipients!

July’s Positive Change recipient is Lifetrack, a nonprofit that helps strengthen resiliency in families experiencing the greatest disparities in education, health, employment, and income.

Lifetrack serves those overcoming the effects of generational poverty, those adapting to a new life in our country and culture, and those working with the challenges of physical and mental disability. They provide participants with culturally specific support and mentorship to help guide success, while creating access to tangible opportunities.

Lifetrack is located just a few miles from our Selby store and provides services to families throughout Saint Paul but focuses predominantly on the Saint Paul Promise Neighborhood and the East Side.

Positive Change donations will support access to healthful food and nutrition education for their Child & Family Service program. This program includes therapeutic preschool which prepares at-risk children for entering kindergarten and home visits that support parent’s goals, parenting skills, and child development. Lifetrack recognizes that it is difficult to address more complicated life issues when food is missing from a home.

Funds donated at the registers in July will provide healthier meals at preschool, lessons on healthy food choices, funding for a nutritionist to assist with food education and co-op gift cards for participants.
