Challenge yourself to eat more veggies, fruits and whole grains by joining the Mississippi Market Plant-Based Recipe Club!
It’s easy, fun and free to join, and you can participate on your own schedule. We share a plant-centered recipe on the second Tuesday of each month, and you have until the end of that month to shop for ingredients at the co-op, make the recipe, and show us and your fellow club members a photo of your delicious dish.
It’s a great way to try new foods, learn new cooking techniques, and encourage each other in healthy eating. And if you participate, you have a chance to win a gift card to the co-op!
Why is the club plant-based?
Anyone can eat plant-based! You don’t have to be vegan or vegetarian, and some of our recipes may have the option to use eggs or animal dairy. We decided to make the recipe club plant-based because we could all use a little motivation to cook wholesome, well-rounded meals and snacks, and this is a fun way to commit to making at least one recipe a month with plenty of good-for-you plants. Eating more plants is sustainable, delicious, and brings much-needed fiber, vitamins and minerals into your diet.
How to participate
- Join our recipe club Facebook group.
- Watch for us to announce the recipe of the month. (We’ll share it in the Facebook group, in our mid-month e-newsletter, and on our website).
- Anytime before the end of the month: Make the recipe, take a photo of the finished dish, and post it to the group. Include a sentence or two with your thoughts — did you like it? Did you change anything, or do you have any tips to share?
- By posting, you’ll be entered into a drawing for a $50 co-op gift card. We’ll randomly select a winner on the last day of each month (or on the last Friday of each month, if the last day falls on a weekend).
Our recipe club is open to everyone. Get the kids involved, invite a friend, spread the word!
