Challenge yourself to eat more veggies, fruits and whole grains by joining the Mississippi Market Plant-Based Recipe Club!
It’s easy, fun and free to join, and you can participate on your own schedule. We share a plant-centered recipe on the second Tuesday of each month, and you have until the end of that month to shop for ingredients at the co-op, make the recipe, and show us and your fellow club members a photo of your delicious dish.
It’s a great way to try new foods, learn new cooking techniques, and encourage each other in healthy eating. And if you participate, you have a chance to win a gift card to the co-op!
Why is the club plant-based?
Anyone can eat plant-based, regardless of whether they follow a vegan, vegetarian or omnivore diet. We decided to make the recipe club plant-based because we could all use a little motivation to cook wholesome, well-rounded meals and snacks, and this is a fun way to commit to making at least one recipe a month with plenty of good-for-you plants. Eating more plants is sustainable, delicious, and brings much-needed fiber, vitamins and minerals into your diet.
How to participate
- Join our recipe club Facebook group.
- Watch for us to announce the recipe of the month. (We’ll share it in the Facebook group, in our mid-month e-newsletter, and on our website).
- Anytime before the end of the month: Make the recipe, take a photo of the finished dish, and post it to the group. Include a sentence or two with your thoughts — did you like it? Did you change anything, or do you have any tips to share?
- By posting, you’ll be entered into a drawing for a $50 co-op gift card. We’ll randomly select a winner on the last day of each month (or on the following Monday, if the last day falls on a weekend).
Our recipe club is open to everyone. Get the kids involved, invite a friend, spread the word!
