Melt butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Stir in minced garlic, and cook until fragrant. Add scallops, and cook for three minutes on one side, then turn over and continue cooking until firm and opaque.
Remove scallops from heat and add to plate.
Whisk salt, pepper, and lemon juice into remaining butter in pan. Pour butter sauce over scallops to serve.
