Ingredients
  • ½cup cooked millet (or grain of choice)
  • ¼cup hummus, any flavor
  • jarred roasted red bell peppers, sliced
  • 1 carrot, peeled into ribbons or julienned
  • 1 yellow tomato, halved and sliced
  • 1 cucumber, sliced
  • marinated, pickled or roasted beets, chopped
  • olives (any kind)
  • 1pinch za’atar seasoning
  • pita bread, for serving
Instructions
  1. Put millet and hummus in a bowl. Add desired amount of veggies and sprinkle with za’atar to taste. Enjoy with warm pita bread!
Recipe Notes
  • Find marinated beets in the deli section at our Selby or West 7th stores, or try Angelica’s Garden pickled beets at all three stores. Homemade roasted beets are another delicious option!
  • New to za’atar seasoning? Za’atar is a Middle Eastern herb and spice blend made of hyssop, sesame seeds, sumac, thyme and sea salt. It lends amazing depth of flavor, and you can find it in our bulk aisle.
