Image for Meet Artist Kprecia Ambers

The rotating BIPOC artist gallery at our West 7th store continues this spring with a new local artist, Kprecia Ambers. You can purchase her prints at the register through the end of June, with 100% of the proceeds going directly to the artist.

Born and raised in Minneapolis, Kprecia Ambers is the creator of Kp Inspires, a digital illustration studio that celebrates stories and shares encouragement.

Kprecia graduated with a degree in graphic design from Concordia University in 2015. There she gained a curiosity in pattern design that soon blossomed into a career in illustration. She is known for her vibrant figurative and portraiture art and has worked with a range of businesses to support their missions and visions.

Understanding the importance of representation, Kprecia’s work reflects her love for celebrating Black culture and history. She is inspired by what she learns and uses photography to reinterpret images into figurative art that captures the spirit of an individual. Through the use of color and body language, her art speaks to people and sparks feelings of joy, hope and confidence. Kprecia’s mission is to use the power of illustration and collaboration to break away from narratives of perfection, celebrate our experiences, and share love.
