Our Community Donation program provides delicious food and resources to neighborhood organizations for fundraisers and celebrations. Through this program, Mississippi Market provides gift cards to St. Paul-based registered nonprofit organizations to purchase food for meetings and events, or to be used as silent auction or raffle prizes. Each year, we donate over 200 gift cards to support local community partners, totaling over $6,000! We recognize there are many causes worthy of our support but feel that focusing our resources on these select areas has more of a direct impact on our local St. Paul community.
When considering a potential donation, Mississippi Market looks at the following criteria:
Is your organization a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit? Gift cards are granted to 501(c)(3) nonprofits except for those with religious or political affiliations.
Is your organization located in Saint Paul or the surrounding community? Priority is given to organizations based in Saint Paul.
When is your event taking place? Requests must be submitted at least two weeks prior to your event.
When has your organization last received a donation from Mississippi Market? Donations are generally granted to organizations a maximum of twice during the co-op’s fiscal year (July-June).
Note: If you are looking for something larger than a $30 gift card, consider placing a sponsorship request. Sponsorships are typically reserved for events or programs within close proximity and/or mission-alignment with the co-op.
