Create Positive Change

Each time you shop at the co-op, you have a chance to directly support local nonprofits by donating your 10-cent reusable bag credits and rounding up your purchases to the nearest dollar. It may only be a few cents or spare change, but your generosity makes a huge impact — to the tune of over $10,000 each month for our Positive Change recipients!

The mission: RECLAIM’s mission is to increase access to mental health support so queer and trans youth may reclaim their lives from oppression in all its forms.

Overview: RECLAIM provides financially accessible mental health care for young people ages 12-25 who seek services focused on identity development related to sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression. They are one of the only orgs in Minnesota that provide financially accessible and specialized health care to this population. RECLAIM supports young people in building resilience as they navigate multiple biases and oppressions that can impact their wellbeing.

One of RECLAIM’s core values is Healing Justice, which is a belief that personal healing is an act of resistance. RECLAIM’s therapists provide a space where young people can address the trauma they have experienced and then create their own path toward healing.

RECLAIM will use donations to support therapists’ salaries to ensure that financial barriers do not limit youths’ access to vital care. Nearly two-thirds of the queer and trans youth RECLAIM serves have financial barriers that prohibit them from accessing care in a traditional clinic.
