Create Positive Change

Each time you shop at the co-op, you have a chance to directly support local nonprofits by donating your 10-cent reusable bag credits and rounding up your purchases to the nearest dollar. It may only be a few cents or spare change, but your generosity makes a huge impact — to the tune of over $10,000 each month for our Positive Change recipients!

 Mission:

The Sanneh Foundation (Sanneh) is a St. Paul-based nonprofit whose mission is to empower youth by supporting educational attainment through in-school and after-school support; improve lives by providing youth programs that strengthen physical health and social and emotional development; and unite communities by advancing diversity, equity, and community wellbeing.

Background: Since 2011, Sanneh has designed and delivered programs for youth, ages of 6 to 18, throughout the Twin Cities Metro with a focus on serving youth of color in urban settings. Sanneh seeks to close the health equity gap through action on the social determinants of health by using a safe settings approach with the following entry points for change: 1) physical exercise and nutrition education; 2) social and emotional skills development; 3) workplace skills development; 4) income through employment.

What the donations will be used for:

April Positive Change donations will support the food distribution program which supports over 1000 individuals every week in our store neighborhoods in Frogtown and the East Side of St Paul.
