Nothing hits like fair food – the smells, the colors, the tastes. If you are already missing the fair or you did not attend this year, here are some recipe dupes for some essential fair favorites.

Hummus and Falafel
Hummus and Falafel Bowl is easy to make at home with Babas pita puffs, hummus and falafel in store. Layer on some tomatoes and cucumbers to make it a full meal!

Chocolate Chip Cookies
You can grab a pint of ready-to-cook cookie dough. It is also so very easy to whip up a fresh batch:
- ½ cup cream, ½ cup butter, with ½ cup sugar, and ½ cup brown sugar, beat in 1 egg and 1 tsp vanilla.
- Stir in 1 ½ cups flour, ½ tsp baking soda, ¼ tsp salt, and 1 cup chocolate chips.
- Scoop onto a baking sheet and bake at 350°F for 10–12 minutes.

Roasted Corn
- Brush corn on the cob with olive oil, sprinkle with salt, pepper, and a little smoked paprika.
- Roast at 425°F for 20–25 minutes, turning halfway.
- Optional: slather with butter and sprinkle with parmesan or chili powder for extra flavor.
Did you know you can also microwave corn on the cob? After removing husk and silk, wrap your cob in a wet paper towel and microwave for 2-4 minutes.

Roasted Fries at Home
- Cut 3–4 potatoes into sticks and let sit in salty cold water for 30 minutes. Rinse and dry.
- Then toss with 2 tbsp oil, ½ tsp paprika, and salt.
- Roast at 425°F for 30–35 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crispy.
- Serve with ketchup or aioli.

Roasted Pork Chop
- Season pork chops with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and a touch of paprika.
- Roast at 400°F for 20–25 minutes until internal temp reaches 145°F.
- Let rest 5 minutes before slicing.
We recommend Peterson’s Craft Meats pork chop for that delicious local taste.

Cheese Curds
We think the Ellsworth Cheese curds are so good right out of the bag (you know they’re fresh when they squeak!). If you really want the roasty-gooey goodness of fried, try this:
- Toss with a little flour, dip in beaten egg, then coat in panko breadcrumbs.
- Fry at 350°F until golden, about 2–3 minutes. Serve warm.

Fresh Cut Fruit and Kombucha
- Slice fresh seasonal fruit (berries, peaches, or melon) and mix with 1 cup of kombucha per serving.
- Optional: add a squeeze of lemon or a sprinkle of mint for extra refreshment.
You can find refreshing J’s Kombucha on our shelves, ready to grab and go!

Sambusas
- Make a simple savory pastry by filling wonton wrappers with a mix of cooked ground beef, onions, garlic, cumin, coriander, and a pinch of salt.
- Fold into triangles and bake at 375°F for 12–15 minutes or fry until golden.
You can also pick up locally made frozen Sambusas from Hoyo in our stores, to easily cook in the oven or microwave.
