Create Positive Change
Each time you shop at the co-op, you have a chance to directly support local nonprofits by donating your 10-cent reusable bag credits and rounding up your purchases to the nearest dollar. It may only be a few cents or spare change, but your generosity makes a huge impact — to the tune of over $12,000 each month for our Positive Change recipients!
Meet Waḳaƞ Ṭípi Awaƞyaƞkapi
Waḳaƞ Ṭípi is a conservation non-profit working in several parks on the east side of St. Paul. Their mission is to engage people to honor and care for our natural places and the sacred sites and cultural values within them.
Thousands of community members are directly engaged in their environmental and cultural programs directly through public use and connection to the site at Waḳaƞ Ṭípi/Bruce Vento Nature Sanctuary. This is of particular importance to the East Side, where many residents lack access to naturalized public green spaces, and to the knowledge and health benefits these spaces provide.
Waḳaƞ Ṭípi offers urban conservation, cultural healing, and environmental education programs. This summer we will see the completion of the Waḳaƞ Ṭípi Center at Bruce Vento Nature Sanctuary.
Funds from the Positive Change program will support programming at the Waḳaƞ Ṭípi Center being completed this summer at the Bruce Vento Nature Sanctuary. For more information, check out their website: https://www.wakantipi.org
