Create Positive Change

Each time you shop at the co-op, you have a chance to directly support local nonprofits by donating your 10-cent reusable bag credits and rounding up your purchases to the nearest dollar. It may only be a few cents or spare change, but your generosity makes a huge impact — to the tune of over $10,000 each month for our Positive Change recipients!

Women’s Advocates’ mission is to walk with victim-survivors and our community to break the cycle of domestic violence. The shelter and non-profit use the tools of radical hospitality, advocacy, and collective action to work toward a community free from violence, where all are safe and can live productive and healthy lives.

Women’s Advocates was the nation’s first shelter for women and children escaping domestic abuse. They currently have locations near our Selby and East 7th Stores.

Programs

  1. Violence Prevention and Education – educational trainings, community events, and safety resources for survivors and helpers.
  2. Shelter and Healing – secure emergency shelter and access to basic needs for up to 50 victim-survivors daily.
  3. Safety After Shelter access to advocacy and ongoing support for a year after departure from shelter.

Funds will be used to support culturally responsive services and mentorship to create pathways to stability for youth and families fleeing the cycle of domestic violence.
