Create Positive Change
Each time you shop at the co-op, you have a chance to directly support local nonprofits by donating your 10-cent reusable bag credits and rounding up your purchases to the nearest dollar. It may only be a few cents or spare change, but your generosity makes a huge impact — to the tune of over $12,000 each month for our Positive Change recipients!
Meet TC Food Justice
Reducing food waste and hunger in the Twin Cities by moving abundance to need throughout the food system
The Short and Sweet
TC Food Justice organizes volunteers to pick up food that would otherwise be wasted and bring it to hunger relief organizations. They focus on vegetables, fruits, and nutrient rich breads because hunger relief organizations often find it challenging to provide fresh food options for their clients consistently.
TC Food Justice has 35 active food donor organizations, including Mississippi Market and several local farmers, which are matched with 55 recipient hunger relief organizations. You might recognize some of their drop-off locations in St. Paul, including Hallie Q Brown Food Shelf, Canasta Familiar, St Kate’s and Hamline Food Shelves, North Star Health Center, Project for Pride in Living and Shobi’s Table.
TC Food Justice rescues an average of 12,000 pounds of food each month

Funds will allow TCFJ to provide more fresh food free of charge to additional hunger relief organizations, particularly focusing on expanding reach in Ramsey County.
