Create Positive Change
Each time you shop at the co-op, you have a chance to directly support local nonprofits by donating your 10-cent reusable bag credits and rounding up your purchases to the nearest dollar. It may only be a few cents or spare change, but your generosity makes a huge impact — to the tune of over $10,000 each month for our Positive Change recipients!

AIFACS (American Indian Family and Children’s Services)
Mission: AIFACS mission is to develop and support foster homes in providing compassionate, stable, secure and culturally competent care for American Indian children and youth.
Voice: AIFACS believes in the right of American Indian Children to grow up among their own people. They believe we have a responsibility as a nation to take care of our children.
Spirit: The very essence of AIFACS lies in preservation of heritage, community and spirit.
Background:
The American Indian Family and Children Services (AIFACS) was created to combat social and racial injustice. Minnesota has the highest rate of American Indian children in out-of-home placement (foster care). Our current disproportionality rate floats around 16%. AIFACS was created because as children were getting fostered and adopted out to non-Native families, they were losing their sense of identity and culture. AIFACS supports family preservation and cultural preservation by licensing relative and American Indian homes for our Indigenous youth.
Funds will be used to support cultural programming like ribbon skirt making, drum making, and storytelling opportunities.
