Create Positive Change
Each time you shop at the co-op, you have a chance to directly support local nonprofits by donating your 10-cent reusable bag credits and rounding up your purchases to the nearest dollar. It may only be a few cents or spare change, but your generosity makes a huge impact — to the tune of over $10,000 each month for our Positive Change recipients!
The mission: World Youth Connect aims to increase youth engagement and empower youth voice. They do so by creating civic engagement opportunities that help young people gain the skills and experience they need to be successful.
Overview: World Youth Connect is a diverse group of motivated young people (12-25) who come together to create community–building projects and engaging events. Their civic engagement opportunities help raise awareness of the power of the youth voice. They are helping to close the opportunity gap and raising cultural awareness.
World Youth Connect’s Main Program Areas
- Community Building projects and engagement events
- YouthConquer Program A mentorship program where World Connect Youth Interns provide homework assistance, participate in cultural identity workshops and leadership building with middle school students in St Paul Public Schools.
- YouthEats Program A health equity program that works to cultivate conversations among young people around healthy food choices and ensures all youth and their families have access to healthy food.
Donations will provide support to the YouthEats program providing youth and their families access to healthy and culturally relevant food choices.
