Meet the Board
Mississippi Market’s board of directors consists of seven to nine elected member-owners, chosen and elected by the membership-at-large, who are legally responsible for the overall direction and performance of the co-op.

Current Mississippi Market Co-op Board Members
Roy Berger
Board Member, Finance Committee Member
Term: 2024-2027
Roy has a B.S degree in accounting, passed the CPA exam in 1982, and has had positions in both public and private accounting. Roy was the Financial Manager at Mississippi Market for sixteen years, retiring in 2016. He served two three-year terms on the Mississippi Market Board from 2017 to 2023, and is currently filling in the remaining term for a board resignation.
Tamara Downs Schwei
Finance Committee Member, Strategy Committee Member
Term: 2023-2026
Tamara holds a B.A. in Spanish and Communications and a Master of Public Policy in Sustainable Community Development and Women’s Policy. She works as a project manager at GREATER MSP.
Roderick McCulloch
Treasurer, Development Committee Member
Term: 2023-2026
Roderick holds a Master’s Degree from Saint Mary’s University in Management of Co-ops and Credit Unions. He currently works for Shared Capital Cooperative, a financial cooperative that lends to other co-ops.
Taylor Mitsch
Secretary, Recruitment Committee Member, Policy Committee Member
Term: 2023-2025
Taylor holds a B.A. in Spanish and Global Studies and a Masters of Social Work. She currently works for the Minneapolis VA Healthcare System as a social worker.
Noel Nix

Term: 2023-2026
Noel holds a B.S. in Marketing and Master of Urban and Regional Planning, and currently works in the St. Paul Mayor’s office as an adviser on community-informed economic and infrastructure development.
Jon Olson

Jon holds a B.A. in Organizational Leadership. He works for Anoka Ramsey Community College and Anoka Technical College as a director of training.
Molly Phipps

Molly Phipps lives on the West Side with her husband, two children, and their pets, and she enjoys cooking, baking, and exploring the neighborhood. Molly has been a member of Mississippi Market since she moved to the area in 2008 and has been involved in cooperatives since college. She has a passion for food, the environment, and people and sees cooperatives as an excellent way to affect real change in the world. After running a farmers’ market for a decade, working on strengthening the local food system, Molly is currently a consultant with Columinate, helping cooperatives realize their full potential.
Daniel Ramos Haaz

Daniel holds an M.S. in Computing Science and an MBA and works as the controller for National Co-op Grocers.
Devona Wells

Devona holds a B.A. in Communications and J.D. She currently works as an assistant county attorney for the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office.
