Ingredients
Tea Infused Oatmeal
  • 1 cup oatmeal
  • 1.75 cup water
  • pinch salt
  • 2 teabags any variety of black or green tea you like!
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla
  • honey or maple syrup optional
  • seasonal fresh fruit Door County Cherries or blood oranges are great options
Meringue
  • 2 egg whites*
  • sprinkle salt
  • 1/4 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp sugar

Tea Infused Oatmeal
  1. Bring water to boil in a pot with tea bags. Be mindful of the steeping time for the tea. The should steep in the water somewhere from 3-5 minutes.
  2. Remove tea bags and add oatmeal when water boils.
  3. Cook until oats are done and the oatmeal has a thick consistency.
  4. Mix in vanilla.
  5. Serve warm. Top with meringue and fresh fruit.
Meringue
  1. Whip egg whites* until foamy. Approximately 30 seconds to one minute. Note: Any yolk whatsoever will make this not work. And make sure the bowl is very clean and cool.
  2. Add salt and lemon juice and begin whipping again.
  3. Slowly add sugar.
  4. Continue whipping until stiff peaks form and the mixture is thick and glossy.
