Milton Creamery was started in 2005 as a joint venture between local Amish dairy farmers and the Musser family. All of their milk comes from cows on small Amish dairy farms where herds are managed and milked by the immediate family.  The farmers graze their cows throughout much of the year and don’t give their cows artificial growth hormones, like rBGH and rBST. Simple dairy farming creates simply delicious milk used at Milton Creamery.

Prairie Breeze, one of our favorites from Milton Creamery, is a twist on a well-aged, white cheddar-style cheese, aged for a minimum of nine months and made with vegetarian rennet and no added color. Sweeter than your typical cheddar with lots of flavor, it’s crumbly yet creamy with a little crunch from the calcium crystals developed during the aging process.

Try it grated on a salad, in soup, with apple pie or your favorite chocolate chip cookie, or on a multigrain cracker!
