Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup molasses
  • 1/2 cup bourbon or whiskey
  • 2/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 2/3 cup brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 Tbsp. garlic, minced
  • 3-5 sprigs fresh thyme
  • 1/2 pound fresh cherries, pitted/halved
  • 2 tsp. black pepper

  1. Incorporate all ingredients except cherries and bring to a boil. Allow to simmer over medium-high heat for 5 minutes and then add the cherries to the pot.
  2. Continue to simmer until the sauce reduces slightly and the pectin from the cherries thickens the sauce so that it coats the back of a spoon.
  3. Taste the sauce and season to taste with salt. Remove the fresh thyme sprigs and brush over your favorite grilled meats!
