Try these delicious juices and smoothies that blend detoxifying fruits and vegetables to help you feel great for the start of the New Year.

The Detox Smoothie

A light, refreshing, cleansing smoothie full of fresh greens and ginger, which contains many beneficial antioxidant and anti-inflammatory compounds.

Ingredients (serves 1)
1 cup green tea, chilled
1 cup loosely packed cilantro
1 cup loosely packed organic baby kale (or another baby green)
1 cup cucumber
1 cup pineapple
juice of 1 lemon
1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
½ avocado

Preparation
Place ingredients into a blender and puree until smooth.

Beet, Apple, and Blackberry Juice

Beet juice is a powerful cleanser of the blood and is highly nutritious. It is full of beneficial vitamins including folic acid, manganese, potassium, iron, and Vitamin C.

Ingredients (serves 1)
3 small beets
2-3 apples
8 oz. blackberries
1/2 inch fresh ginger

Preparation
Juice the ingredients and enjoy.

Lemon & Lime Detox Smoothie

Lemons, limes and other citrus fruits, as well as dandelion greens, rank highly for their cleansing properties.

Ingredients (serves 1)
1/2 medium lemon, peeled and deseeded
1/2 medium lime, peeled and deseeded
2 medium bananas, peeled
juice from 1 large orange
1-2 cups chopped dandelion greens (or sub kale or spinach)

Preparation
Start by adding the liquid to your blender followed by the soft fruit. Add the greens to your blender last. Blend on high for 30 seconds or until the smoothie is creamy.

Calming Turmeric Golden Latte

Ingredients (makes 2 cups)

2 tablespoons coconut oil
1/4 inch ginger, grated or chopped
1 1/2 teaspoons turmeric powder
1 cinnamon stick
generous pinch of cardamom
generous pinch of black pepper
1 tablespoon almond butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (or to taste)
pinch of sea salt
16 oz boiling water

Heat coconut oil in a small saucepan over medium low heat.

Add ginger, ground turmeric, cardamom, and black pepper and stir, cooking spices until very fragrant, about 30 seconds to 1 minute.

Boil water with cinnamon stick.

Add coconut oil, almond butter, vanilla extract, a pinch of sea salt, cooked spices, honey or maple syrup and boiling water (removing cinnamon stick) into the blender blend on high until bright yellow creamy!

Garnish with cinnamon stick, enjoy immediately and relax!

Apple Lemon, Ginger & Spinach Juice – The Green Clean!

Ingredients (serves 1)

1 green apple, cored
3 handfuls baby spinach (or kale)
1/2 English cucumber
1/2 lemon, rind removed
1 (1/2-inch) piece fresh ginger root, plus more to taste
Pinch of Celtic Sea salt

Push everything through your juicer and enjoy!

Detox Warming Tea

Ingredients  (makes 2 cups)

16 ounces of warm or hot water
2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
2 tablespoons lemon juice
½ teaspoon ground ginger
¼ teaspoon cinnamon
1 dash cayenne pepper
1 teaspoon raw, local honey (optional)

Bring the water to a boil, add ingredients and mix thoroughly until all ingredients are incorporated.
